This Neiman Marcus Dip is a holiday classic, and pairs great with crackers. Loaded with bacon, cheese and almonds plus ready in under 10 minutes.
There's a reason this Neiman Marcus Dip also goes by, "Million Dollar Dip" it is just that amazing! This dip is ready in under 10 minutes and only requires 6 ingredients making it perfect for a simple and last minute party appetizer.
My favorite way to serve this spread is alongside an assortment of crackers, but pretzels raw veggies or bread also pairs well.
Ingredient Notes
- Bacon: My favorite bacon to use in any recipe, including this bacon, cheese almond spread is my Air Fryer Bacon. It comes together quickly and soooo crispy. You can of course use any method to cook your bacon, or use store bought bacon bits in the dip.
- Almonds: I find that using almond slivers work best for the dip, because they are thin and combine well but still give a crunch. If you cannot find almond slivers the next best option could be crushed almonds or sliced almonds. I do not recommend using whole almonds for this dip.
Why You're Gunna Love It
Super Quick & Easy to Make: Ready in about 5 Minutes
Can be Prepped and Made Ahead of Time: Perfect for Parties
Nothing Fussy: Only 6 Ingredients Required
Minimal Kitchen Tools: Only 1 Bowl, Spoon & Knife Needed
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients
Begin by measuring out all of the ingredients and prepped the green onion and bacon. I always make my bacon ahead of time, so all I need to do is crumble it. If you do not have cooked bacon on hand, then you will need to cook some on top of the recipe prep time.
Last, go ahead and chop the green onion and move on to combined the bacon, cheese almond spread. - Combine the Spread
Once all of the dip ingredients are prepped add everything to a large prep bowl and use a spoon to combine well. I like to stir and mash to ensure all the ingredients are dispersed evenly. Serve with crackers or dipper of choice, or store in the fridge until ready to serve.
How to Store Leftovers
Store leftover bacon cheese spread in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Stir before servings with crackers or pretzels.
FAQS
The dip was created for Neiman's Marcus's original restaurant in Texas in the 1950's by Helen Corbitt. The dip was then published in her cookbook and has been a classic, holiday staple since. This dip also goes by the name "Million Dollar Dip", because it is just that good and well loved.
Yes, you can make the dip up to 24 hours ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the fridge. This works great for busy holidays and parties. Before serving I like to give the bacon cheese dip a good stir to recombine everything then serve.
My personal favorite to pair with this dip is crackers. Ritz Crackers, whole wheat crackers, Club Crackers or any variety will work. Alternate options include pretzels, sliced and toasted bread or veggie sticks.
Pro Tips
Make it Fancy
I have stuck pretty close to the classic Neiman Marcus Dip recipe, because I like how minimal and simple it is. Plus, it clearly is perfect just the way it is (um, hello it didn't get the name Million Dollar Dip for nothing)!
Some additional add-ins you could try is some ground black pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, or a pinch of paprika for added flavor dimension. To further up your dip game you could add in a sharp cheese like Gruyere or Jarlsberg. These are completely optional, and just some more ideas to make this dip a fit more fancy!
Let it Chill
You can serve the bacon and cheese dip right after combining or let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour to let it develop more flavor. This is optional, but great to do if you have the time.
