Is there anything better than tacos? Very few things in my book, and these Pork Carnitas Tacos rank among some of my family’s all time favorites! The meat is both juicy and crispy and can be used for tons of different things besides tacos. Also, this recipe is super simple and perfect for weeknight dinners, because it is made in the crockpot with little prep work. Whether you are hosting a potluck or cooking family dinner this Mexican taco recipe is perfect for your needs!

Anyone else feel like January is an entire year long, then February is over in 18 seconds? Weird. Anyway, after all the sweet recipes I have shared lately, I thought a nice and healthy snack recipe would be a nice change. This Morning Glory Muffins Recipe is super healthy, vegan and one bowl making it one of my favorites. These muffins are perfect for meal prep on Sunday to have as a snack or breakfast all week long. The combination of fruit, nuts and veggies make these muffins both sweet and hearty that any kid or adult will love. Also, these muffins can be changed and customized to you and your families personal taste. Enjoy!
Thanksgiving is nearly here with Christmas right on it’s heels! Appetizers are perfect for the holiday season and some of my favorite recipes to create and eat. I love that this Prosciutto Wrapped Breadsticks with Gouda Cheese Dip recipe is simple, fast and a play on a classic. The entire dish is ready in about 20 minutes making it perfect for a last minute appetizer. This recipe will stand out among the tired and boring cheese and crackers plate, and please all your young and not so young party guests.
This Southern Sweet Potato Casserole with Sweet Pecan Topping recipe has been in my family for my entire life. The recipe came from my Great Grandma Merritt, my grandma’s mother. While she was living in Georgia she needed a recipe to take to her husband’s dinner party. Her neighbor at the time shared this recipe with her and it was a hit! Ever since then this recipe has been made every single Thanksgiving with little deviation. My Great Grandma passed away many years ago, but a piece of her lives on through this dish. My great grandma taught it to her daughter, who then taught her daughter who then taught me. I love that I get to carry on the tradition and share it with my family.
Let me just start by saying that myself and my family are NOT vegans. We enjoy meat and cheese very often. That being said I do try and incorporate vegan and vegetarian meals on a daily basis for my family. There are tons of health benefits from a high vegetable and plant based diet. This Spicy Vegan Black Bean Soup is one of my favorite vegan dishes that I make for my family on a regular basis. I love how healthy, simple and fast this recipe is, and that it tastes good and makes you feel good. So before you turn your nose up to a vegan dish, GIVE IT A TRY! And if not there will be cookies next week.
Fall is officially in full swing! Here in Wisconsin it went from cool to cold basically overnight. My family and I have broke out the long sleeves, boots, and my favorite, the crockpot! Once the leaves start falling and the air turns crisp I immediately start craving hearty soups, stews and all the warm comfort foods. One of our favorite of those foods is this Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings with Biscuits. I love how simple, filling, and tasty it is. This makes a perfect weeknight meal with little prep work, and the best part is that the crockpot does most of the work. Get yourself a big blanket and curl up on the couch and enjoy a big bowl of creamy deliciousness!
It is finally Fall, which means that football is back! My family lives in Wisconsin (Go Pack Go) and are huge football fans. We love hanging out on game days and one of our appetizers of choice is this dip recipe! If you don’t live in the states, or you’re just not into sports, then football probably matters very little to you. No matter, this Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip is also perfect for parties and holidays! It is extremely simple and can be kept warm in a crock pot to enjoy for hours. Whenever I throw parties, this dip is always requested and is usually completely wiped out by the end. Continue Reading…
It is finally Fall! This is my favorite season and time of year. I love the crisp air, leaves changing colors, bonfires and, of course, all things pumpkin! Truth be told I consume pumpkin all year round but once that first leaf falls all of a sudden I want pumpkin everything! My mom made a delicious pumpkin bread growing up, but, unfortunately, she has lost the recipe! To my dismay I had to come up with a replacement recipe. Luckily, this Pumpkin Spice Loaf Cake with Dark Chocolate Swirl at least ties my mom’s recipe in deliciousness. The combination of pumpkin, spices and dark chocolate are everything I love and perfect for a Fall dessert!
I am excited to share this Perfect Marinara Sauce with you today! For so many years, I have been buying jar after jar of marinara sauce from the store because I thought making my own would be too time consuming or difficult. I was so incredibly wrong. After about two years of consistently making my own sauces this marinara sauce is one I always come back to.
